Hey Ladies! I know it seems early since we haven’t even had Thanksgiving yet… but if you’re like me, the next month is going to FLY BY, and next thing you know the second week in December will hit and you’ll be researching gadgets and trying to find the next great gift for your partner.
ALL YOUR PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED!
I’m currently booking hotel sessions in Portland, Oregon on November 23-24.
You can contact me if you have questions, or just use the secure paypal buttons below to book your time. or would like to book a spot.
One outfit sessions are $250, and include light styling and a sexy little photo book (10 image folio). Three outfit sessions are $400 and take longer, but typically yield a significantly more diverse image collection. A longer session also gives you more time to come into your own spirit and power; it’s rare for a client to be ready to go from moment one. You’ll come out of either type of session with a renewed appreciation for yourself and excitement for this gift!
Allow me to indulge in showing a recent photo from our family portrait session with Kersten Green Photography. I spend so much time with my son every week, and even though I don’t distinctly remember the moment, I know that when she took this photo he was kind of mad and uncooperative, and I can tell I was speaking softly and sweetly to him as I do every day when he gets like that. Photos are magic. (And, it also helps to have your hair professionally styled.)
Since I do not offer family photos, I have a few talented friends I do recommend depending upon what you’re seeking. For classic, beautiful images I like Kersten Green Photography. For super Portland, candid, and real photos go to Posy Q. For quirky, funny family photos check out Gwyneth Colleen Photography.
the blog theme was hacked awhile ago by some dumb robots with links to spam sites, and we’re working to improve the presentation of the information – unfortunately a lot of the image links no longer work and the menus are wonky! so pardon the fact that this isn’t a flashy fancy site at the moment, I have a nineteen month old to go catch….
in the meantime, here is some of the main information you may want to browse.
Wondering why I’ve been so quiet? Becoming a mother changed my life! This first year has been truly challenging and all-consuming of my energy and creativity. At the moment I’m on sabbatical, but still photographing in the home. I am also collaborating with a few great people throughout this year – the musicians of Resonance Ensemble whose music continues to bring tears to my eyes with every program – plus the brilliant minds behind Portland Made to photograph makers and shakers in Portland. FUN!
A new offering – mama baby boudoir! Sounds weird, but it’s awesome. New mamas come in with their babies and get intimate, lovely portraits in the gorgeous natural light. I AM NOT A BABY PHOTOGRAPHER though… this is more about the mom than the kid. This is paired with a maternity boudoir session with the baby bump in month 8 or 9 of the pregnancy.
I’ll be out on personal leave from March 15 – May 1. Although I am not accepting portrait commissions during that time, feel free to contact me to set up a shoot in May. I won’t be on email regularly but I will be checking in every week or so.♥
I love the transition from “this is one of the scariest things I have ever done” to “THAT WAS FUN!”
boudoir client FB conversation (pre- and post- shoot)
“I am about to embark on one of the most terrifying experiences of my life – a boudoir photoshoot… I’m so scared I have no idea why I really agreed to this in the first place. Who knew half-naked photos could induce such terror?” -2/10/12 at 8am
“The photo shoot turned out to be FUN. Rachel is amazing at making you feel safe – even when barely clothed. I danced, tossed my hair, and channeled my inner Victoria’s Secret model. Wowza. I didn’t know I had it in me. It was the experience of a lifetime. I totally recommend getting a boudoir photoshoot with Rachel.” -2/10/12 at 1pm
Also… her friend’s advice is super funny. “Bust of luck!” heehee
