Rachel specializes in elegant black and white images of women of all ages and all sizes. Her work is tasteful, natural, and brings out the best in the women she photographs. She has been recognized by Boston Magazine and Daily Candy as one of Boston’s premiere boudoir photographers.

Many women choose to give a boudoir folio to their husband as a gift on the wedding day or anniversary, though increasingly our clients schedule these sessions to celebrate milestones such as pregnancy, weight loss goals, career changes, or other celebrations of independence and life.

EVERY woman.

I’ve known about this Lifetime television series for a long time, but Netflix doesn’t seem to have the discs so I have not been able to see it until now. I am convinced that this should be required viewing for every single woman on the planet. The first episode is particularly realistic. (I often find Carson’s television host personality to err on the annoying side, but he does a good job with this.)

Please, take some time to watch How to Look Good Naked. You won’t regret it.

I’m accepting studio boudoir sessions this holiday weekend. We have added a bed in our private Lowell MA studio space, which is an exciting addition to the urban brick and warehouse feel, and of course the sleek studio black we always offer for studio sessions.

We have a limited number of slots available on the evening of Sunday, September 6 (film noir look) and 11am-4pm on Monday, September 7.

I am open to fine art maternity sessions at these times as well.

Email to choose a time.

feedback – boudoir & wedding

“Thank you so much for the beautiful boudoir pictures you took of me… you made me feel so comfortable, and it was so nice how much time you took with me. I was married on June 6, and my husband loved his gift. He couldn’t wait to get back to look at the pictures again! It was the one reason that didn’t make coming home from our honeymoon a complete downer…. thanks!

-J, March 2009 boudoir client

“The photos are amazing!!!! We are so lucky to have you in the family and to have you as our photographer!”

-Haady, July 2009 wedding client (and now cousin)

“The pictures turned out really well.  We are both very happy about them.  Thanks Rachel, good job, four thumbs up! You really captured a lot fun and memorable moments.  Wouter and I looked great despite the fact that we were tired and slept a few hours the night before. Yes we were very smiley and happy, it was adrenaline rush and I was trying not to look tired.  You really made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.”

- Eileen, July 2009 wedding client

“Thank you so much for taking my boudoir pictures. We had a great day and then that night when I gave them to him he flipped! He loves them! (So do I!). Thanks again for everything.”

-T, boudoir client

boudoir: mini-sessions

3351130486 1f64e8ccdf o boudoir: mini sessions

We’ve opened up a new type of session for our hotel boudoir dates.

A mini-session is a simple, short boudoir session for ONE outfit plus implied nudity. These sessions are ideal for women who want to do something fun and empowering for themselves… or for someone who wants to give a nicer-than-usual anniversary gift to her husband.

Sessions are currently available on the weekend of September 4-7 and weekdays in our studio.

Know someone who might be interested? Please send her our way…

goodbye Tricia!

3708699080 c2a796ac3d goodbye Tricia!

My favorite stylist, Tricia, just moved to Portland with her husband who is a very important doctor who got a very important job. I’ll miss her sweet personality and talented boudoir styling skills. She always brings light into the room. The first image above is from our boudoir session with an editor of Boston Magazine earlier this year.

I met Tricia back in February 2007 when she commissioned me to do some headshots. The photos above were my first foray into a world of stylized posing.

Thanks, Tricia! Knowing you has literally changed my life.
