“Live your life, not someone else’s – don’t live to someone else’s expectations and don’t compare your life to others.”
A down-to-earth, tough, and determined woman, Anne has overcome many obstacles throughout her life. Described as caring, loving, and honest, those around her can count on her in a heartbeat.
After Anne was diagnosed with cancer and completed treatment, she finished seven 100 mile races in two years, meeting her ultimate goal of finishing ten 100 mile races before her 60th birthday: “I’m focused – when I set my mind to do something, I get it done.”
Anne often travels to new locations for races and is grateful that her life circumstances allow her to pursue her passions. As an ultramarathoner and cancer survivor, she hopes to inspire others to take on challenges at any age: “I would hope that younger women runners look at what I’m able to do and realize they’re never too old to take on a challenge.”
