“Life is so fragile- live with no regrets!”
“I was thrilled about participating in this project, though the photo session came shortly after the death of my mom, which now looking at many of my photos I can see the grief in my face, and especially in my eyes. Her death has had a profound effect on me in how I choose to live my life, and not sweat the small things. Grief is a powerful emotion to overcome!”
Brené Brown is Sue’s spiritual guide. She strives to live her life with bravery, honesty, and empathy. No small task when leading one of the largest arts organizations in Portland and being the first woman to lead Portland Opera in over 57 years while going through a global pandemic. Sue is proud to be leading the company through transformative change and building a culture that is human centered.
Sue wakes up every morning to the NY Times and a good strong cup of coffee, before starting her day. Her friends say she has a wicked sense of humor and is loyal to a fault. She is the first one you call during a crisis or to plan a party. Sue loves spending time in her garden, which has become a passion for her. With all the Sue has achieved so far, one of the most profound experiences she’s had is giving birth – “what a beautiful experience to carry a person inside you and then release them into the world, it’s simply a marvel!”
“I’m excited to show that women over 50 have value in aging gracefully. The look of a woman’s lines on her face shows wisdom and inner peace. I like the idea that every day brings a new perspective and hopefully leads all of us to living a joyful life.”
