Chris Caldwell, 56

“Beauty emerges from how I love and care for myself from the inside out. I can see that in other people and it shows in how they move through the world, how they inhabit their skin.”

‘Life, and how you feel in your skin, gets better, not worse. Maybe more tenuous but all the more precious for that. Without a doubt, sex gets better.’ – Chris’ response when queried about what myths should be busted for women 50 and over. Chris notices a growing sense of power, confidence and humility. She feels most beautiful while being present in the moment, spending time outdoors, and (sometimes) naked in nature.  Chris is a combination of lightness and seriousness. She is an intuitive empath intertwined with analytical intellect who helps passionate folks leaders lead with joy and purpose. While in school, Chris adored studying so many various topics (art, science, philosophy, international politics, Spanish) that she ended up a communications major in college. She then continued onto graduate school to study rhetorical criticism and intercultural communication. She created her own consulting firm in 2011, working alongside nonprofits and mission-driven organizations, to assist people in doing their best work. Still learning new things and unlearning old things, Chris is a “WYSIWYG” (what you see is what you get) kind of human.

Valuing the balance of professional and personal time to bring whole self alignment, Chris enjoys a slow, relaxed start to her day with a cup of tea, while snuggling with her partner and dog, Rusty. She is continuing to learn and practice the power of pausing and relishing in moments of stillness. In caring for and loving herself in this way, she is recognizing the value of relishing the moment. Just as her perceptions of beauty have evolved over time, Chris also sees how her confidence has blossomed and wishes she could tell her 20-something self, ‘Trust yourself, and don’t worry about proving your worth.’ In the present day, Chris relates to the quote by Alexis Pauline Gumbs, ‘Everybody is always learning how to grow.’
