Using her voice and story to change legislation and influence social change, Dawn speaks out for causes dear to her. She believes in fighting for what is right – she is a human rights activist fighting to end child marriage in the United States and ensure equal rights for adults in custody. Dawn has been hugely influenced by survivors, writers and truth-tellers throughout her life. She is herself a survivor of child marriage, having been forced to marry at age 13.
Valuing truth and integrity, she believes in always owning up to one’s actions: “One of my greatest life lessons has been owning my mistakes and allowing myself to learn from them. We do no service to ourselves and others if we deny our flaws.”
Treasuring and protecting her inner child, Dawn is passionate about giving love and receiving love. It is the greatest gift. “I’m more alive now than I’ve ever been! And I have life experience- let me share it with you!” Dawn is driven, courageous, bold, honest, curious, and fun-loving.
Dawn’s advice to her younger self: “Trust your gut instinct. You’re hard-wired. Trust yourself.”
Dawn now: “I’m finally in love with myself!”
